This is a vintage Mexican silver brooch, dating to the 1940s.
It is shaped a piece of parchment paper, and has a raised Aztec figure in the centre. There are natural jade drops at the bottom of the brooch, and an engraved pattern around the sides.
The brooch is complete with its original pin and clasp.
The back has a glossy polished finish, and is beautifully smooth.
A very unusual and very interesting piece of jewellery!
0900 silver purity stamp.
This stamp indicates a silver fineness of 90%. It is slightly lower than 925 sterling which is 92.5% silver. The Mexicans used several different grades of silver, and Mexican silver is considered to be among'st the purest found in the world.
The silver has been tested to ensure it is not a base metal.
3cm across by 4cm in length.
(Measured to the bottom of the drops).
Excellent vintage condition with light tarnish.
